Lens-Artists Challenge – Everyday Objects

Whenever I’d get a new camera, the first thing I’d do wold be to go around the house and take photos of any interesting object, with the idea of seeing what the camera could do. There are plenty of such objects at my parents house so I was spoilt for choice.

Now, I’m more aware of commonplace objects in their own surroundings, how they can be interesting in their familiarity or because they can be so typical of a different culture.

Some objects, which are commom now, were symbols of status when they were made. I love going to museums and make the most of their displays.

Other Museums show us a glimpse of how everyday life was 50, 60 years ago and how some objects can become so alien in not that many years.
