One of my favourite places in Japan is Kanazawa. I really enjoyed all we visited and it was such a lovely surprise. This building is in the Higashi Chaya-Gai, the Geisha district. Most of the houses here are traditionally made of wood, and this one caught my eye because it was reddish, while the others tend to be brown. A few doors down the street is the Ochaya Shima, a preserved Geisha house where we had a cup of green tea and enjoyed the peaceful surroundings.
