Thursday Doors – Mafra

A door leading to a door, that leads to another door, and another… The architecture of the time organised the public rooms in this fashion. For me, a person that is almost always cold, the first thought is how did they manage to keep these rooms warm? This is at the Mafra Convent near Lisbon, a massive palace-convent showing how rich Portugal was in the early 18th Century.
