Dean Castle is a 14th Century castle in Kilmarnock. It was at the time of our visit under repair and most of it was closed. Those works are due to finish this summer and so another visit is due. The surrounding park is brilliant for walks and a great opportunity to see deer roaming about. Apparently it is also a location used while filming the Outlander series.

I love stone buildings, and that door is fantastic! I love the way they cut the windows into the arch.

That door and stone building are very attractive as is what I think is a gate that goes across the door.

I like that dark sooty colour for the wood. Nice contrast to the warm colour of the stones
