PPAC – Nebuta Float

This is a Japanese paper float. I think it was part of the Aomori Nebuta Matsuri festival but I am not sure. All I know is that I took this photo in October, long after the festival taking place and, it was in Osaka, far from Aomori. What it was doing in Osaka is anyone’s guess. But it was enormous, another figure the same size to the right, and mesmerising.

  1. Such a fierce expression. Can you imagine having to endure that look from a parent, boss, or a colleague. I’d fall over dead for sure. Of course he was fighting for his life against four dragons. That would make anyone lose the complacent looks we usually wear. Great post for this week’s PPAC, I love it! πŸ™‚
