Friendly Friday – Close ups and Macros

For years I only had my kit lens, a telephoto lens I’ve learned to use on any situation, including close ups like the tulip on the picture above. I could capture bees and other bugs nicely too, croping the shot while editing, but they lacked the detail I was looking for. So I got a macro lens a few months ago.

Now there are times I find myself almost blinded by details only, just because they’re so crisp and beyond anything I could imagine. Sometimes I even forget there’s a whole flower, or a bigger picture to capture and enjoy. But, it’s my new toy and I’m loving every second of it.

  1. I can see why you are transfixed by details, Sofia! It totally changes the look of the photograph yet is still so aesthetic, if not more so than a wider shot.
The yellow petals are stunning and my favourite but all are fantastic photographs.
