PPAC – Dean Castle

I feel sorry I don’t know who said this. There’s a bit more to this carving but I only took this section, quite a few years ago. It’s in Dean Castle, Kilmarnock in Ayrshire. The castle is better known these days for being a location to the Outlander series. I remember it for the running deer and for this.

  1. I enjoyed the Outlander series. So what do you think he meant by this? It could have many meanings by this time. I had to look up Dean Castle just to learn a bit more. It goes way back! I hope you took lots of great pics! I enjoyed this one immensely.

    1. It was closed at the time of visit, but the walk outside was wonderful if a bit on the cold side. I think the phrase is not as old, probably refering to the times when children would work as a norm and the attempt to give them the right to an education.

      1. That makes sense given the time period. Things have changed a lot in that arena, thank goodness – not that children should never work, but not at the expense of education and their well-being. šŸ™‚
