The visit to Kanazawa, 10 years ago, was mainly about the Kenroku-en, one of the big 3 gardens of Japan. Once we got there, Kanazawa showed us to be so much more. The castle was amazing, the weather was atrocious and dangerous. And the Samurai District a wonderful surprise. I can’t resist to take a peek when gates are open and I’m glad I did in this case.

A lovely courtyard but with real life (rust, gravel, etc.) to make it interesting!
