Thursday Doors – Glasgow

Yesterday was the first day, in what it feels like forever, the weather was nice and warm(ish) so I decided to go early and have a bit of a walk to work. I hadn’t been to this part of the city since the pandemic and it felt like discovering it again. This one was up for sale a few years ago, a Grade A listed building and yet is abandoned, looking for the inevitable colapse or worst, fire. It opened in 1846 as a private school and later housed Glasgow’s High School, even in its current state still has a dignified presence to it.

  1. I hope they can find some way of repurposing this building, Sofia. You’re absolutely right, even in this state it is such a handsome structure. The door is amazing. Thanks for carrying Thursday Doors through the break.
