PPAC – Batalha

Something completely different this week. Public Art, 13th Century style. While I had a look for photos this week, and I had one I took specifically for PPAC a few weeks back, I noticed I was being very restrictive on what I’m posting as public art. You can find this window, and several other equally beautiful at the Batalha Monastery in Portugal. An Unesco World Heritage Site, it was built as a promise fulfillment, back in the days Portugal was at war with Castille. War was won and on comes this wonderful testament of human faith.

  1. This is fabulous. You have inspired me for next week, Sofia. ๐Ÿ™‚ I had to go back and take a second and third look because it’s so beautiful. No specific design as you find in most church stained glass.

      1. Yes, I think it is refreshing and very beautiful. No one knows what God looks like, and abstract is an accurate representation as is Light. Thanks again for sharing, Sofia. ๐Ÿ™‚
