Thrusday Doors – Tomar

A very old photo of a very old and special place. The Convent of Christ in the town of Tomar, central Portugal. Its origins go back to the 12th Century, a Templar stronghold, it was later a Catholic convent. The door is pretty amazing, but the convent is better known for a massive, highly decorated window inside. Personally, I was more impressed with the paintings and architecture of the Round Church. A wonderful place.
