Thursday Doors – Glasgow

Although the door itself is of no interest, just basic glass covered by an advertisement, the entrance and the whole building are something worth sharing. This time I also manage to find the kind of information I’ve been looking for, that gives a bit more of context. This is no 91 Buchanan Street, Glasgow. At the moment, it’s waiting for the next shop to open, having known quite a few during its time. Built in 1896, it stands out for the flemish style, very different from all the other buildings in this street. Next to it is the Willow Tea Rooms, famous for the Mackintosh interiors. No 91 once was also part of Mrs Cranston’s Tea Room, as it was first known. Those interiors are long gone.
