Last week I’ve shared a door from the Inveresk Lodge gardens, which was the purpose of our visit to this historic village. After the garden visit, I explored a bit, as the buildings all looked so lovely. I’ve learnt a lot about them since and thought it would be interesting to give them the space and attention they deserve. So much so, I wouldn’t mind going back to Inveresk and discover a lot more.
Today I’m sharing the imposing Manor House. It’s by far the biggest building along the road and for what I can tell, it’s still a private residence. At the time I thought it could be a hotel of sorts. Built around 1740, it is a category B listed building and the gardens are open to the public on specific times of the year. One of the sites I’ve found mentions this is a house, like the ones from that period, that it’s only one room deep… interesting!

That would be an amazing house to come home to. I can’t imagine. It’s beautiful, and you captured it well.

If the interiors are keeping with the exterior, it has to be amazing 🙂

Great feature with the many windows forming a design on the facade.

One room deep, but they must be very good-sized! Nice photo!

A building where stories are born!

Very likely. I do wonder, sometimes, with buildings as old as this, what stories can they tell.
