Last doors from Inveresk, the lovely almost unchanged 17th Century village near the East Coast of Scotland. We start with the White House, dating back to the 1700s, a former lunatic asylum. To finish, a view of Shepherd House, dating back to the same time. I was very attracted to the gate and the house itself was beautiful. The garden can visited on specific times of the year and it’s considered one of the top ten gardens in Scotland. I might be back just for that.

Beautiful photos. Love the gate and its ornate band of carved elements in the middle portion.

Both houses are beautiful and very well preserved. I hope you make it back for a tour when the interior is open. I love the gate.

I think it would just be the garden, not sure if it’s still a private house. But I’d be happy with the garden alone anyway.

Simple but lovely, especially the gate on the right.

Inveresk spells Outlander to me. Am I right?
Love the gate.

Thank you for checking π I looked it up after your reply. It’s Inverness in Outlander, some 200 miles north.π
But the place you show us here is charming! β¨οΈπ·
