Thursday Doors – Glasgow

This is one of the rare occasions where I’ve been beyond this magnificent doors, and the rest of the building is even better. Dating back to the 1870’s, it’s known as La Casa, the former Italian Consulate in Glasgow. When I had the pleasure to be inside, I was the wedding photographer to a friend of mine. At that point, the Council was in charge and used this rare gem as a register’s office. It is now for sale for a modest £2,500,000. It sounds like a lot but comparing to other, much lesser properties, I think it’s worth every penny.

  1. That’s a magnificent door. I love the photo. I find getting a good degree of contrast on dark subjects difficult. I love the hardware and the details in the sidelights. Still, it’s a bit outside my budget 🙂
