If there’s a plant/flower that reminds me of my childhood is this one, the oleander. Funnily enough, I’ve only recently learnt how toxic it is. My family has a couple back in Portugal both well over 20 years old. I’ve always enjoyed taking photos of them, especially of the white one, when it catches the sunlight like this. So delicate and beautiful.

Thank you for the lovely memory as well. This flower was a favorite of my mother.

I still don’t know exactly how toxic it is, and how it can harm us or our pets. My dog is always careful not to step on the discarded blossoms on the floor beneath the plant. And there are so many around here, of various colours, everywhere you look.

It’s the same in Portugal. Not so common in Scotland so in a sense it reminds me of home.
