Here is a little story on how family traditions start, or at least, ours started. Many years ago, our first date was in this italian restaurant called La Vita, with views to George Square, right in the middle of Glasgow. Soon, La Vita was part of our celebrations. For our anniversaries it was natural we would go back to where our first date took place. Then, we would drop by for birthdays. It became part of our lives, as we would have the whole restaurant singing happy birthday to my embarrassment and my son’s delight. Last year I took this photo from our table, the first time I’ve ever done it.
This year we already missed out on all our birthdays there and will be celebrating our anniversary at home. 13 years of a tradition that will be paused for, hopefully, just one year. But we will be back, for sure. I wouldn’t like to be embarrassed anywhere else…

How delightful that you could return to the place that was the location for your first date! The restaurant my husband took me to, has closed down! Love this photo. It evokes excitement and celebration. Well done. Thanks for joining in on the Friendly Friday Challenge.

wow – a 1 year tradition is a wonderful memory
and I think the word phase fits well – and hoping the unpause will happen soon – and nice photo

It must be a great place to have survived business for so long. Its clear that there are lots of good memories behind this picture. Restaurants have been hard hit by Covid, at least so in Canada and US. Let’s hope your place will tough it out for your next celebration

Thank you, Sandy. It’s a family business and it’s been around for longer than I have. Hopefully it will survive all this.
