PPAC – Glasgow

I love fountains but don’t seem to have many photos of them, which is strange. Anyway, a fine example of Victorian fountain today with the Doulton Fountain in Glasgow. Designed to commemorate Queen Victoria’s Golden Jubilee in 1887, this fountain is made of terracotta on a iron frame. The photo shows only one of the five tiers that compose it. There’s a reason for it, it’s the only section I actually enjoy of this fountain: the other tiers although artistically interesting contain too many imperialistic references.
